Welcome to Write Proper
Many poeple have ploberms wtih splelnig, Capitalisation or grammer. Most people are simply incapable of proofreading thier own work. This is because we just keep re-reading our mistakes whilst subiminally correcting them. So, even after careful examination, we never spot the the error. How about punctuation. When is it appropriate to use an exclamation mark! We simply can not trust ourselves to self-police our written mistakes. Who can you trust to ensure that your errors are corrected before the text is released to your reader? Are you REALLY as good at spotting them as you thnk? Its an interesting problem, isn't it?
Well, lets see: The above paragraph had a minimum of one obvious error in EVERY sentence, (ten in total). So how many did you truly notice? I'm sure the first sentence stood out for you because six out of the nine words were wrong. So we'll count the entire first sentence as one error. Now, did you honestly spot the other nine? If not, Click here and all will be revealed!
Remember: Great things happen when your specialised business expertise is paired with our ability to write about it.
It's all about appropriateness. (Is that a real word?). We call it 'levelling'. You can't write a promo-sheet for a hip-hop band in the same tone of voice as a booklet on haemorrhoids. It's also important not to get too hung-up on absolute grammar rules or punctuation if it detracts from the message itself. You have to keep in mind the reason you're writing your text- and the audience for whom it is written.
Good branding requires consistent 'tone of voice' texts. This ensures that a uniform tone emanates from, and propagates through your organisation.
